about
'Supernova' is fundamentally a song about love. It takes inspiration - as does the entire album 'Arrows' - from the works of science fiction master, Isaac Asimov, and in this particular case from a female character in one of his books who falls in love with a robot. The song is in fact a love story between a robot and a human, but it's not clear which is the human and which is the robot. It's a reflection on what love really is, how it affects us and where the line is between the realities and fictions we tell ourselves, between 'programmed' feelings and the inexplicable reasons we love something or someone.

LYRICS
Artificial wave of emotion coming over me
Joy and pain imploding
Supernova
Can't break out this shell and touch the unknown
Irrationally, senses ebb and flow through my circuitry
But a word cannot make this real
But a word cannot make you feel for me
Artificial meaning of form and movement, yet so fine -
the curve, the arching gestures of precision
Consciousness bursts out of me, I sigh
Light refracting perfect flaws - beauty to my eyes
But a word cannot make this real
But a word cannot make you feel for me
Days fall away but the feeling remains in the moments that play out again and again in my
head as the days fall away but the feeling remains in the moments that play out again and
again in my head as the days...

Kettle of Kites is an indie art rock band. It’s a soaring crescendo and then a simple folk melody. It’s a vast wide open space and then an intimate living room – a geometric maze to find your way through.
